A Father’s Daughter Heirloom Pendant

Frequently Asked Questions

A simple solitaire design typically takes 4–6 weeks.

A complex design with multiple stones can take 8–10 weeks or more, depending on how many creative edits are needed between you and I.

These timelines apply whether you are bringing heirloom pieces or I am sourcing stones for you. If your request falls outside these guidelines, I will let you know during one of our meetings.

Lastly, if you have a rush, don’t be shy to mention it. I will do my best to meet your special occasion date.

The cost of a custom piece depends on many factors, like gemstone selection, metal choice, and the level of detail in the design. Some projects are simpler, while others are much more elaborate. Most of the heirloom redesigns and engagement rings I create fall into the range of a meaningful long-term investment rather than a small purchase.

Think of it this way: each piece is crafted to last for generations, with high-quality materials and workmanship. The investment varies depending on your vision, but my clients typically find that their final piece reflects both the artistry and the value of something truly one of a kind.

Absolutely. I love working with sentimental jewellery and precious metals to create something new that still carries your story. If your heirloom piece doesn’t have enough gemstone or precious metal to complete your new design, I will source perfectly matching gems to complement it, and we can top up your gold contribution with ethically sourced new gold.

If you have more gold than the project requires, I can purchase it and apply a credit toward the cost of your new piece. If there are gemstones in this extra gold, we can return them to you for safekeeping or future projects.

Yes! I work with clients all over North America and beyond, so you don’t have to be local to create your dream piece with me. The process is simple and collaborative. We’ll start with a virtual consultation where we chat about your ideas, style, and inspiration. Next comes gemstone selection, which can be done through videos, photos, and text messages — whichever works best for you.

From there, I’ll share CAD renderings and detailed previews so you can see exactly how your design is coming together before anything is made. We’ll check in along the way through email, video calls, or messaging so you feel involved at every step. By the time your piece arrives, it will feel like we designed it side by side.

Absolutely. I have over two decades of relationships with trusted gemstone and diamond dealers who all follow government-enforced guidelines for the ethical sourcing of gems.

If you are newly engaged and guessed on ring size, resizing usually takes about a week and a half. For all other repairs or warranty inquiries, please visit our Warranty & Repairs page

The greatest opportunity for making changes happens during the CAD process. Once you approve your final CAD, the design will be carried out exactly as approved.

Every piece is third-party appraised, as it is unethical to appraise one’s own work. Many of the gemstones and diamond suppliers I work with provide certification for significant stones. If a gemstone you select does not already have certification, we can arrange to have it certified for you at an additional cost.

I work with all gold alloys — yellow, white, rose, green, champagne — as well as platinum. Karat content ranges from 10k to 19k, and I am happy to accommodate special requests for higher karats.

When it comes to gemstones, I primarily work with natural diamonds and sapphires, as well as emeralds, rubies, aquamarine, and more. If you’re interested in lab-grown diamonds, we can work with those too.
