Heirloom Emerald

El Corazon

Pretty sure my obsession with gemstones started with a healthy childhood addiction to the movie Romancing the Stone. If you’ve seen it, you’ll remember the whole plot revolves around finding a giant green stone—an emerald—called El Corazon, hidden behind a waterfall. The name means The Heart, which felt like the perfect fit for this incredible heirloom emerald a client brought to me for a remodel.

The stone was inherited from a deeply loved family member, and my client wanted to surprise his wife with something meaningful and personal. At the time, they were a family of five, so I added five white diamonds along the bridge supports to represent each one of them. The final piece is packed with sentiment, sparkle, and story. This one really is El Corazon in every way.
